In 2016, I started working at the cafeteria of the “Centre la Tulipe” managed by the Parkinson Luxembourg association. At the beginning, I came in twice a week and was very shy. I wasn’t sure if I would be suited to working with sick people, but I was happy to have found a job. Now, coming here is so much more meaningful to me than just doing my job and I draw so much energy from my work.
Even though it initially was very emotional for me, I learned to listen to the patients and their loved ones. Thanks to all the kind people coming to the centre, I now enjoy interacting with others way more. I am getting back so much from them and that motivates me every time! Looking back, I surprised myself; I never imagined that I would change so much.
